Next, let’s import some data so we can start using the tool. Click on the top left arrow to get back to NVivo’s main screen. If you select File, and then Help, you will see an option for Manage License, where you can update your license key, when you receive a new one each year.Ħ. But if you want to save it manually, create or open a new project, get help or change your program settings, you can use the File menu at the top left.ĥ. NVivo will ask you to save your project every 15 minutes. These menus and their options will change depending on what is selected.Ĥ. At the top are various ribbon menus, similar to Microsoft tools, such as Word or Excel. We will look at these sections as we use the tool.ģ. The left side menu helps you navigate the various items of your project, such as your files, themes, notes, queries, etc. First off, NVivo will present you with a getting started tutorial video. Let’s briefly look around before we get started. Finally select OK to create your new project.ġ. If you have any issues and contact QSR for help, their customer service representatives might ask you for this log file, as it will help them troubleshoot your problems.ĥ. This will record everything you do in NVivo in a log file. Check the “Write user actions to project event log” option. Next, browse to where you want to save the project file.
